Things have been going well with Bryce! On long days like Fridays, when he has preschool in the morning and speech in the afternoon I let him veg out for a few hours after. He's been around stimulation and people all day and it seems to work really well for him to just relax and play trains or watch a movie. He is averaging 1 nap a week usually on weekends.
We know his emotional triggers pretty well(lotion, water, loud sounds, change in routine) and have been able to work with him pretty well on those. He's not been happy about going to church lately, so thats a bit of a challenge but I'm hoping its just a phase!
This morning Bryce put a pillow in his chair and then sat on it. I said "you want to sit on it like a prince?" and he said "I'm not a prince I'm just a kid!"
He's also been asking for a pet. According to him "a hamster, a dog, but not a cat. cats make me sick, sick sick." and in a different conversation he said "ALL my friends have pets" Lee likes the idea too. I'd really love to have a fence first :) I like the idea of a mellow older dog that would help the kids calm down. We'll see!
Bryce can count to at least 20 and knows his ABCs. He's been singing Jesus Loves Me and 5 Little Monkeys lately. I'm visiting a preschool next week that would have a more academic approach to learning than his current school (I love his teachers now but they mostly "play" and he isn't writing at all yet) I just read about an app I want to try for handwriting...
