Christmas

Saturday after naps we went to the Christmas Eve service at church. I had no idea how packed it would be! A sweet reminder of the reason for Christmas. After dinner Lee read the kids Song of the Stars.

Sunday morning the kids awoke to presents under the tree...sidenote: We've read books like Night Before Christmas and watched cartoons with Santa.  But haven't pushed the story. So when he woke up and saw the presents I asked him "Who brought these presents?" Bryce replied "Jesus!"

After we opened presents we got ready for my friend's church service where she got baptised. (And the reason we are dressed in something other than pajamas!)

After church we opened presents with Lee's sister, brother and parents via skype. We had a lazy day, and when Kinsey woke up from her nap we headed to a nearby Chinese restaurant and enjoyed our family dinner. Our kids are picky eaters--I was thankful they had chicken wings + scallion pancakes ! After dinner we skyped with my parents, grandparents, and brother John. 

I really missed visiting with our families, and enjoying the food I grew up with (I saw Mom's holly wreath cookies when we skyped!) but we had a great Christmas with the kids and have I mentioned--it was the 5th warmest Christmas day on record? In the 40s!
