the Story

I bought the Jesus Storybook Bible at a church conference a few weeks ago. I was hesitant when Bryce was younger because the illustrations are a little more mature than his toddler Bible. I wish I had bought it sooner. Its beautifully written and saturated with grace and truth. Here's a sample...

"Now,  some people think the Bible is a book of rules, telling you what you should and shouldn't do. The Bible certainly does have some rules in it. They show you how life works best. But the Bible isn't mainly about you and what you should be doing. It's about God and what he has done...

No, the Bible isn't a book about rules, or a book about heroes. The Bible is most of all a Story. It's an adventure story about a young Hero who comes from a far country to win back his lost treasure. Its a love story of a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne--everything--to rescue the one he loves."

I think the book is as much for adults as it is for the kids. Its really good.

I love it too! I wasn't sure if he'd like the illustrations but he seems to just fine.

We have this book and read it every night to David before bed, its a part of our routine now. He loves it. We've already been through it once and we just started over again. I have to admit, sometimes when I just want him to get into bed some of the stories can be long, shame on me.
