Our 2 year old is definitely two! To describe him right now I'd say: energetic, social, easy going, mechanical, sweet. He knows how to open all handle baby gates and has learned to open our foot-pedal kind too (sometimes we tie a sock in a knot on his gate). His favorite show is Curious George and makes monkey sounds when he gets to watch it. He's been saying please (peas) for a while now, but just a few nights ago said thank you to Lee for milk and now says thank you to random things we do.
Sleep is a challenge. He was sick with a cold until a few days ago and still wakes up at least once a night. At bedtime he stands or lays by the gate an hour past his bedtime and naps are more of a challenge too. I'm tempted to see if he could go without a nap (or just take one for an hour) so he'd be more tired at bedtime. When he doesn't want to sleep in his bed he takes his car pillow to the gate and turns off his fan on the way. We've found him asleep this way several times.
